There is no such thing as lack of diversity in the cookware market. From cast iron, enameled cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper, the options are endless. However, there is little dispute that a stainless steel skillet is the workhorse of modern kitchens, its throne built on a foundation of all-around performance, durability, versatility, and no-fuss maintenance.
After reviewing the successful nonstick pan from Misen, it's time to take a look at their stainless steel pan. So without further ado let's start our Misen Stainless Steel Pan Review
Misen Stainless Steel Pans were designed to offer optimal heat conduction and retention, as well as the maximum possible floor space. With comfortable ergonomic handles and durable construction, these pans will last a lifetime of searing, sautéing, and any other task you throw at them.
Like it happened in our review of the Misen nonstick pan we only had the opportunity to test the 25 cm (10-inch) stainless steel pan. However, everything we'll mention about this model is equal in all different sizes.
Misen stainless steel pans feature 5-ply construction with an 18/10 stainless steel exterior and interior and a triple-layer aluminum core for superior heat conduction. The 25cm (10-inch) pan weighs about 1.3 kilograms (3 pounds), which is a bit heavy but in a good way. Its weight, can be easily maneuverable with one hand, and once properly heated, it retain heat more effectively when fridge-cold ingredients make contact.
We have been using this pan a lot, and its ability to cook evenly is impressive. We have tested its ability to cook evenly several times, using different ingredients from steak to seafood and we saw virtually no difference in sear from one spot in the pan to another. This weight, and the overall quality of the materials used, also prevent warping at higher heat. Where many brands are forced to stamp their products with warnings about high heat cooking, Misen does not.
Over the last couple of months, the Misen 25 cm (10-inch) stainless steel pan is the only pan that we have been using. And as you can see from the photo below, we have used this pan not only for cooking meat or fish but also for desserts. The fact that this pan is oven safe up to 260 ºC (500 °F) and compatible with all types of cooking tops makes it very versatile and a solid choice for almost all types of cooking styles.
Besides its professional performance and versatility, another aspect that we really enjoy in this pan is its design. All Misen Stainless Steel pans were designed with a shiny silver finish that really catches the eye upon first look. Additionally, the handles of the pans are also stainless steel and have a comfortable grasp for its users. They have a hollow design to ensure that the handles stay cool when cooking.
Last but not least, another aspect that we really envoy in this pan, is its large cooking surface area. Accordingly to Misen "Our pan's wider base has roughly 19% more cooking area than other “premium” cookware companies." We compare the Misen 10-inch stainless steel pan with other 10 inch skillets that we own, and none of them offer a larger cooking area than Misen.
Misen Stainless Steel Pan is a great cooking tool to use for just about anything you can fit in it. We have been using this pan for a couple of months and we have been loving the cooking experience. Like all other Misen products we have tested, it offers the same professional performance we are used to.
As we said in our Misen Nonstick Pan review we only have been using this pan for a couple of months so we cannot swear by its longevity, although we believe that it is made to last. For those who are worried about the lack of warranty in Misen products, don't worry because in a couple of months we'll revisit our reviews to see if something changed.
Misen Stainless Steel Pans offer optimal heat conduction and retention and are built to last a lifetime of searing, sautéing, and any other task you throw at them.
