Ingredients

113 g (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
15 g (1 tablespoon) regular or whole-grain Dijon mustard
3 g (½ tablespoon) lemon zest
8 g (2 tablespoon) fresh parsley, chopped
6 g (1 tablespoon) chives, chopped
6 g (1 teaspoon) fresh thyme, chopped
3 g (1 teaspoon) smoked paprika
1 g (¼ teaspoon) cayenne pepper
5 g (½ tablespoon) kosher salt
4 g (½ tablespoon) freshly ground black pepper
2 to 3 garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, add all of the ingredients. Fold together until thorougnly incorporated and you have a smooth butter with no lumps.
  2. Lay out a  30.5 cm (1-foot-) long sheet of plastic wrap. Add the butter mixture in a mound in the center, and spread it into a 15.25-cm (6-inch) log. Carefully roll up the plastic wrap to form a cylinder of butter encased in the plastic.
  3. Clamping the 2 ends of the plastic wrap with your fingers, slowly roll the log back and forth in a straight line along the counter until it develops enough tension to make an evenly shaped log.
  4. Enjoy on or in whatever you'd like! We love to use this butter on meat or fish. Store wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
